A little of my story...
It started with dancing clothes. it is rumored I am part fairy (I love shiny things). I've been a designing fairy since I was very small - I'm still rather petite - and received a big Marvy marker set, and a happy face bag filled with funky pens for a gift (my favorite toys). One of the pens in that bag looked like a lollipop. My beautiful mother introduced me to the world of stories that teach or help. When she combed my long, brown hair, which took a long time because there always seemed to be too many knots, she told me stories about the giant comb she was using and his many adventures. To pick out my clothes in the morning, she had different outfits dance for me and tell me their stories so I could choose. And, she read me Aesop's Fables and bought me Ed Emberley drawing books which introduced me to the concept of teaching with fun, entertaining stories.
My first drawings and stories consisted of little plays starring a world of animals who walked on two legs and had names like Dog for a dog and Cat for a Cat. (I was only six). There were always lessons in my stories either about saving their local pond or how important it was to be nice to each other.
And it was growing up, my dog brother, a beagle named Andyboy, instilled in me my love of dogs. It was spirit visits in my room, and seeing flying little lights circle my pillow, that fueled my fascination of the spiritual world and everything magical.
As a grown-up, I went to school for art and design to nurture my artistic passion (Bachelor's and Associate's degrees). I had my own biz, Ronnicards, creating custom pet portrait cards for many years before doing freelance illustrations for the educational and children's market.
I later switched gears after my mom crossed over which led me back to spiritual work to become a professional animal communicator for animals. I also added college art teacher to my many hats teaching art and animal communication.
It was the creation of my Fairy Online School that pulled everything into one place: my animal communication knowledge, design, writing, storytelling and drawing skills. I recently went back to school and received my Graduate Certification in Education Media Design and Technology to learn more skills as a teacher through the vehicles of instructional design and stories. There I fell in love with video storytelling and its abilities to teach and help.
